COMMUNITY PROFILE

Gerry is currently Chair of NovaQuest Capital Management, a private-equity firm focused on life sciences. He is also a Fellow of The Institute of Directors and Visiting Fellow to Henley Business School. In addition, Gerry is a valued Criticaleye Board Mentor, giving direction and an opportunity for reflection to executive mentees.

 

Gerry's previous non-executive roles include Chair of NFT Distribution, Senior Independent Director of Keller, Chair of Biocompatibles International and Senior Independent Director at Forth Ports. He also represented 3i on the Board of Vantec Corporation, an MBO from Nissan in Japan, until its exit.

He was previously Chair of Upol and Director of C H Jones, Michael Gerson and Datrontech. Gerry has also been an Independent Director of Quintiles, the largest global provider of biopharmaceutical development and commercial outsourcing services.

 

In 2015, Gerry published his first book, capturing his boardroom experiences, entitled, 'The Independent Director: The Non-Executive Director's Guide to Effective Board Presence'. He has since published three further books: 'The Independent Director in Society', Making a Difference: Leadership Change and Giving Back The Independent Director Way' and Disaster in the Boardroom.

 

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and a Member of the Council at the University of Exeter.
