Steve Pateman argues that the fundamental needs of banking customers have not changed and says that if the global financial crisis has taught us anything it is the essential value of banking services to society. He makes clear however that banks do need to change and outlines how Santander have taken an innovative approach to business banking and the success they have seen as a result.
