Bernard Cragg - Should directors of FTSE 350 companies serve annual terms?

In collaboration with the international law firm, Eversheds, Criticaleye interviewed Bernard Cragg, an Associate at Criticaleye, as part of a series of films concerning the boards of listed organisations.

In this short film, we asked Bernard for his thoughts on the recommendations of the new Corporate Governance Code that directors of FTSE 350 companies should serve annual terms (rather than the previous practice of three year terms).

We asked him whether he thought that this would make directors more accountable to shareholders, or whether it would make them too concerned with shareholder interests.
