Bruce is a Non-executive Director of Alba, one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters with production of more than 1.6 million metric tonnes per annum. Bruce is also a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee of Aurelia Metals, an Australia-based gold and base metals mining and exploration company listed on the Australia Stock Exchange. The company has sales of ~ $300 million and an asset base of around ~ $400 million.

 

He is an Advisory Board member to the Saudi Arabia Sovereign mining and minerals processing investment fund under the auspices of Saudi Vision 2030. The fund has a mandate to invest 50 billion Saudi riyals ($13.5 billion) over the next 10 years. The international Board membership team are from, and represent Africa, Australasia, South America, North America, China and the Middle East.

In his executive career, Bruce was a seasoned CEO, COO and CFO spanning a career of 40 years. He has worked in a broad range of industrial, manufacturing and mining environments. His career has spanned the steel, aluminium, diamond, iron ore, platinum, uranium, and copper sectors. He led senior positions in BHP for 23 years and Rio Tinto for 16 years.

Bruce has been Chairman of the Australian Aluminium Council, Chairman of the Tomago Board, and recently was Non-executive Director of the listed company Energy Resources Australia. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and MBA and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has extensive commercial, M&A and operational experience across multiple commodity sectors. Bruce has particular on the ground experience in business turnaround and transformation of distressed assets.
