Neil is Chair at Skills Union, a Singapore based international fast growth business designing and delivering learning solutions globally for the digital age, and at Applied Monitoring Ltd, a UK based pre-revenue start-up developing a biomedical sensor for lactate, glucose, drugs and alcohol in the bloodstream backed by Mercia Asset Management. In both these businesses, Neil has been asked by investors to use his broad-based business skills to help the Founder develop winning commercial propositions, and build out organisations from scratch, to deliver game changing solutions into their respective markets.
 
Neil is also Chair of the Advisory Board to Hillcore Industrial, a Canadian investment company, buying or making investments in growing industrial companies, and a member of the Race Equality Advisory Council at CMS Cameron McKenna Navarro Olswang LLP, a member firm of CMS, an international organisation of independent law firms.
 
With effect from April 2025 Neil became Chair at Hants and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust having been selected because of his successful leadership of transformational change programmes in other sectors. This is a new organisation formed by merging several other NHS bodies together focussed on bringing better community based care and mental health support to citizens across this UK region. Neil has also joined the Board of NHS Property Services, a delivery partner providing expertise in estates management across the NHS, advising them on strategy, OD and people issues.
 
Prior to starting his portfolio career in 2021, Neil had an extensive C-Suite career in listed businesses, and in the public sector, as a Chief People Officer. Throughout his career he led teams in strategy and planning, business development and bid management, business transformation, corporate communications and corporate affairs, health safety, and wellbeing, as well as HR.
 
Neil is passionate about helping businesses succeed creating better services, products, jobs, and wealth as they do so. Away from work, Neil’s interests include walking the family dog, watching cricket, playing golf (badly) and reading (primarily history, biography, politics and sport).
