Catriona Schmolke CBE FREng is a portfolio NED and Chair across Public Sector organisations and PE-owned, high growth businesses. She serves as NED for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Scottish Water Group and National Physical Laboratory, the latter where she is Chair of the Major Projects and Programmes Advisory Council. She is also a NED at Private Equity-owned NES Fircroft Group as well as the Chair of Artus Air Ltd which has venture capital and PE funding. She is a well-established and respected Board Mentor at Criticaleye. She is an accomplished member of Board committees including Audit & Risk, Remuneration, Nominations and Health Safety Security Sustainability and Environment.

Catriona had a long and successful executive career at Jacobs Solutions (NYSE listed Fortune 250), where for the last five years she was one of the company’s top, global executives. She led the global Operational Centers of Excellence and held the role of Chief Safety, Security and Sustainability Officer. She was integral to the integration of a significant acquisition, led elements of a major divestment, contributed to a successful transformation strategy and drove the company’s climate action plans. Catriona’s operations career was primarily in the UK, Europe and Middle East sustainability and infrastructure sector, working as a hydrogeologist and engineer. Her work covered energy systems, nuclear lifecycle, water utilities, waste management solutions, transport solutions and contaminated land redevelopment. At Babtie Group (which Jacobs acquired), she was the MD of the Environmental Management Business and then led the Water & Energy Utility business and founded its Sustainable Solutions Consultancy.

She received the honour of Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering where she has also served as Vice President and Trustee. She is member of the Court at Strathclyde University and is Chair of the Statutory Safety Health and Wellbeing Committee. She is a former Visiting Professor of Sustainability, Risk & Resilience at Newcastle University. Based in Glasgow, she is married with three grown-up daughters. Catriona was honoured with a CBE for her services to engineering in the 2024 King's New Year Honours.
