Shaping the Board for the Future

The Pandemic has normalised change and organisations are facing increasing challenges at speed. David Hobbs examines how the Board's role has changed accordingly.

Natalie Ceeney, Vice Chair, Sport England: Board discussions have benefited. Business models are being challenged and NEDs have been able to air all the things that have been niggling in the back of their minds.

Sir Peter Gershon, Chair, National Grid: During COVID-19 the Board has oberserved that the company has become much more agile. it makes decisions faster than it did when in a business in usual state.

Tom Beedham, Director, Board Mentors and NEDs, Criticaleye: "Board must continue to balance the need to both support and challenge the execs".
