The Second Half of the Chessboard: Media & Entertainment is Nearing the ‘End of Digital’s Beginning’

The Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry were amongst the first to digitalise its products and services, however most M&E businesses believe they are behind other industries when it comes to leading digitalisation. As part of their Work Ahead series, Criticaleye partner Cognizant (with the support of renowned economist Nouriel Roubini) explore the new digital economics and current challenges that M&E leaders face within their industry, as well as the ways in which leadership and strategy will enable M&E leaders to innovate work in an increasingly digital future.

Key takeaways include:

  • Over 60% of respondents believe strategic thinking is the main factor in succeeding on the path to digital leadership.
  • Over half of respondents in 2018 said they were in the early stages of digital maturity and now in 2022 expect them to be advanced with 47% expecting to be digital leaders.
  • ‘Digital sprinters’ today are focused on building a culture of innovation and instilling a customer-focused vision.
