Amelia Knott

Amelia has more than 10 years’ experience in managing stakeholder engagement, corporate responsibility and sustainability issues, with a particular focus on extractives and on sub-Saharan Africa. Based in London, she brings a strategic perspective to responsible business practices, as well as expertise in communications.

Her previous experience includes research in conflict-affected environments and emerging markets, providing consultancy for a range of sectors including oil & gas, media and beverages. This includes a major human rights impact assessment for an oil and gas client in East Africa and a market research study in South Sudan. She has worked in Tanzania, Kenya, Lebanon and South Sudan, and managed projects on Uganda, Pakistan, Syria and Somalia.      

Prior to twentyfifty, Amelia spent four years at Centrica plc as Corporate Responsibility Manager, focusing on policy development, reporting and communications with particular interests in climate change, social accountability, energy security, ethics and governance. Her role involved understanding these complex issues, building business cases to address them in the most impactful way, influencing senior leaders across the company, developing Centrica’s responses and policies and reporting performance in a way that resonated with key stakeholders. She has also project managed and written award-winning corporate responsibility reports.

Amelia has an MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an MA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. She is also a Trustee of the Hansard Society.
