FSN Future of Data in the Finance Function

Technology and data has revolutionised businesses and their teams. However, poor quality data within the finance function undermines the trustworthiness of the data and erodes confidence in decision-making. The 2022 Future of Data in the Finance Function survey by Partner Workday looks at the data health of organisations and how to repair it.

Here are some key takeaways:

  • 44% of finance professionals lose a day or more to data downtime each month.
  • 75% of finance organisations experience a “material accounting error” every month. Evidence also shows that finance departments continue to prioritise the speed of reporting and analytics over data integrity and accuracy.
  • Only 36% of senior finance professionals that responded to this survey say their data platform is capable of delivering good forward-thinking insights.
