Charlie Wagstaff

Managing Director

As MD and a Co-founder of Criticaleye, based in London as well as operating from Hong Kong, and with his diverse industry background, Charlie has a unique understanding of the challenges and leadership issues facing today’s global senior executives.

As well as being MD for the Relationship Management team, Board Mentor and career adviser, Charlie chairs and facilitates strategy Discussion Groups, Retreats and Pop-Up Boards on topics ranging from Board dynamics to digital transformation.

Prior to founding Criticaleye in 2002, Charlie was based in Harare, Zimbabwe, overseeing operations and HR for CDC Capital Partners, a VC conglomerate operating across Sub-Saharan Africa. He oversaw 16 commodity businesses employing over 30,000 employees.

From 1990 to 1997, Charlie worked for Corus Tata, where he managed the provision of HR for its head office, established the Corus European Work Council and installed a management development structure across its six world regions.

Charlie has also worked in local government in the UK (London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham) in an industrial relations capacity during periods of major employment legislation upheaval.
