Karen is currently a member of the LGT Foundation Board, the INSEAD Board and Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board of Better Trade Off (a Singapore Fintech). She fund raises for the Girton College campaign Board and is an Advisor to Drop Bio (an Australian Biotech). In May 2021 she was also appointed to the Board of The Global Evergreening Alliance.
Formerly as CEO of Retail and Group Head Brand and Marketing for Standard Chartered Bank, she was one of the Bank’s top 13 reporting to the Group CEO. Standard Chartered covers over 70 markets with 80,000 staff focusing primarily on Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Karen had an extremely broad, 16-year career across wholesale & retail banking, global strategy plus brand and marketing. Registered under the UK PRA Senior Persons Regime, she was a member of the key group committees including all areas of strategy, brand, risk, liquidity and reputation. While at Standard Chartered, she was NED of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad, Merchant Solutions and Exonomy.
Prior to her career in banking, Karen was consulting for 16 years as a Partner of Booz Allen Hamilton focusing on financial services in the Asia-Pacific region with a focus on strategic, operational and technological transformations.
Karen graduated with MA in economics from Cambridge and her MBA from INSEAD.
