Richard Eu, is the Chair of Eu Yan Sang International Ltd (EYSI), and is in charge of the overall corporate development and management of the EYSI Group. He started with Eu Yan Sang Holdings Ltd as its General Manager in 1989. EYSI was formed in 1993 and through a series of buyouts; it was listed on SGX in 2000. In 2016, it was privatised. Today, EYSI is a leading integrative health and wellness company with a unique heritage in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prior to joining Eu Yan Sang Holdings, worked in merchant banking, investment management, stock broking, computer distribution, and venture capital.
Richard was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 (Singapore) and represented Singapore at the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of The Year 2012 award in Monte Carlo, Monaco. He was also recognised as the CEO of the year by the Singapore Corporate Awards 2010, for SGX-listed companies with a market capitalisation of under S$300 million.
Richard actively participates in community projects and non-profit organisations. He serves as the Chair of Singapore University of Social Sciences and the Conservation Appeal Panel (URA); he is also an independent director of Broadway Industrial Group Limited, Reliance Asset Manager Singapore Ltd and Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities Limited. In his spare time, he enjoys music, movies and tennis.
