Aimie Chapple

Vice President Operations

University College London

Aimie joined UCL in May 2023 to serve as the VP Operations (COO).  She has led a number of functions ranging from Estates Operations and Masterplanning to IT, Commercial and Procurement and Strategic Change to Student and colleague shared services, Student registry services and Faculty Operations. Most recently she has taken on the Recruitment and Admissions teams to recruit the best quality students and support the Deans to meet the annual revenue target of ~£1bn in new undergraduate and post graduate student fee income.

Having spent 30+ years working in consulting and business operations in the US, Europe and Asia, Aimie revels in the opportunity to serve the diverse community at UCL to continue to grow and thrive as a global top 10 University, bringing students, academics and researchers together to pursue excellence, break boundaries and make an impact on real world problems.

Having led practices & supported complex transformations for Accenture’s clients, Aimie also served on the UKI board as head of Management Consulting and Chief Innovation Officer and served at the global Human Capital Strategy lead for the company.

After 26 years at Accenture, Aimie took the opportunity to explore a passion she had always had around nutrition and health qualifying as a naturopathic nutritionist.  Corporate life called her back, and Aimie was headhunted to lead a Customer Experience Transformation and integration of 22 business units across 9 countries at Capita – and led this £1.3bn business for 3 years as CEO.

Aimie continues to serve as a Non-Executive Director for LTG, a digital learning and talent management company.  She joined them in 2018, leads the Remco and is a member of the Audit committee.  She also occasionally works with start-ups often focused on topics like diversity, sustainability, wellness and business improvement.

She lives just outside Oxford with her husband, Edward, and they regularly spend time in the southwest with her two daughters and family. Aimie has a BA in Psychology from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and spent her childhood and early career in the US & Japan, moving permanently to the UK as a young adult.

Aimie enjoys being outside, reading both fiction and non-fiction and spending time with her family and friends.
