Reworking the Revolution

Companies investing in AI and in human-machine collaboration could boost revenues by 38 percent between 2018 and 2022 (as much as 50 percent in the consumer goods and health sectors), finds this report by Accenture.

Key points include:

  • Three quarters (74 percent) of executives say they plan to use AI to automate tasks to a large or a very large extent in the next three years. But almost all (97 percent) note they intend to use AI to enhance worker capabilities.
  • Employers are underestimating the willingness of employees to acquire new and relevant skills.
  • The most significant impact of AI won’t be on the number of jobs, but rather on job content.
