Demonstrating Purpose, Creating Value

Annual Reporting in 2017/18:

The impact of changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code are already being seen in businesses’ annual reporting. In their yearly review, EY pulls out highlights and provides an ‘acid test’ to apply to your narrative report.

Review highlights include:

- 41 percent of companies clearly link their purpose to their strategy

- 65 percent of companies describe the methods used to engage with stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, communities and governments

- 74 percent of companies have a standalone section on corporate responsibility / sustainability rather than using a more integrated approach

- 15 percent of reports provide detail on the impact of initiatives taken to improve diversity
