Climate Leadership

In this report, Criticaleye's Non-Executive Director Forum Partner, Accenture, uses their world’s largest programme of CEO Research on sustainability to analyse the current and future global impacts of climate change. They also share what CEOs can do to keep on track of their climate ambitions.
 
Key takeaways include:
  • Global CEOs agree (72 percent) that sustainability is still an immediate priority to their business. Furthermore, 79 percent agree that the pandemic highlighted the need for switching towards a more sustainable business model.
  • The majority of CEOs (57 percent) believe they are making sufficient changes to limit the global rise in temperature to 1.5°C. However, only 2 percent have had their targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
  • Comprehensive frameworks and reporting standards on biodiversity need to be pushed further, as only 21 percent of CEOs recognise the loss of biodiversity and related ecosystem services as a risk to their business or industry.
